This web page is dedicated to people who have
made an invaluable contribution to the study of the geology of Armenia. Among
them are representatives of different generations, scientific schools, and
professional fields whose work was connected with
the investigation of the country’s geological structure, mineral resources,
and natural wealth. The page presents brief biographical information on more than 150
geologists-researchers, scientists, educators, and practitioners—who worked
in Armenia or devoted a significant part of their scientific activity to the
geological study of the country. The list presented does not claim to be
exhaustive and remains open to further additions. This resource is conceived as a form of
scholarly and historical reflection, as well as a tribute to people of
various nationalities whose work laid the foundations for and advanced
